The Dare to Dream Concert 2024 was more than just a musical event—it was a heartfelt celebration of Johor’s rich artistic heritage and the dreams of its people. Bringing together over 280 talented performers from various backgrounds, this concert showcased the unity, creativity, and passion that define Johor’s vibrant arts community. Led by Malaysia’s first female freestyle saxophonist, Keyin—an inspiring artist—the event was a testament to the power of dreams and the indomitable spirit of Bangsa Johor.
Since April, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to work closely with Keyin, supporting her vision and helping to shape every aspect of the concert. My role involved coordinating the diverse talents of over 300 performers, from school groups to professional artists. It was a journey of collaboration, where I connected with various teams and individuals to ensure that everything flowed smoothly—from artist meetings to band practices, and the logistics that made it all possible.
The Final Stretch: Rehearsal and Performance Day
The journey reached its peak during the rehearsal on 15th August 2024. It was a day filled with anticipation and high energy, as all 280 performers gathered for the final run-through. The atmosphere was electric, with every artist bringing their unique flair to the stage, while behind the scenes, I worked tirelessly to ensure that each performance transitioned seamlessly into the next. Managing last-minute adjustments, coordinating between the music director, and calming nerves—all of it came together in a rehearsal that felt almost as magical as the main event.
On 16th August 2024, the day of the official performance, the excitement was palpable. As the crowd filled the venue, the performers, from seasoned professionals to enthusiastic school groups, took their places, ready to bring Keyin’s vision to life. The concert unfolded beautifully, with each act blending harmoniously, showcasing the depth of talent in Johor. Watching from the wings, I felt a profound sense of pride—not just in what we had accomplished, but in how the community came together to create something truly special.
Reflections on an Unforgettable Experience
What made this experience so special was not just the chance to manage and coordinate, but to be part of something that resonated with so many people. Seeing Keyin’s dream become a reality was deeply rewarding, and knowing that I played a role in bringing together such a diverse and talented group of performers was a highlight of my career.

I’m genuinely grateful for this experience and excited to continue supporting artists in their creative journeys.
