My journey into the world of music production began with a deep-rooted passion for music. After years of performing, I discovered the art of music production and was instantly captivated. I devoted countless hours to mastering post-production techniques, setting up my own studio, and collaborating with various artists. This dedication led me to gain hands-on experience through internships at different recording studios, each moment solidifying my love for the craft.
In a pivotal moment of my career, I was awarded a scholarship to the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. Studying at Berklee was a dream come true, offering a unique opportunity to learn from some of the best in the industry and connect with talented musicians from around the world. It was like a dream come true for any musician, and student life in Boston was magical as it was my first time stepping out of Asia and living alone. What made it even more exciting was making friends from all over the world!
But something just didn’t feel right. University life there was not what I wanted. It seemed too far removed from the realistic music market of Asia and my country. It was a difficult decision, but I eventually decided to quit.
In March 2023, I was invited to record piano for an entire EP in Kyoto—a poetic and inspiring city that provided the perfect backdrop for reflection and growth. It was during this project that I found clarity and decided to establish my own music production studio. Thus, PlainW Studio was born, a space where creativity and collaboration come to life.
